Auxiliary Verbs: Be, Do, Have

Auxiliary verbs, also called helping verbs, are used with main verbs to form different tenses, voices, and moods. In this worksheet, we will focus on the auxiliary verbs be, have, and do.

Be is used to form continuous tenses and the passive voice.
Example: She is studying. / The cake was made yesterday.

Have is used to form perfect tenses.
Example: They have finished their homework.

Do is used for questions, negatives, and emphatic sentences.
Example: Do you like ice cream? / I do not know.
